Cooley Covered Bridge

Cooley covered bridge was built in 1849 and has a slate roof. The town truss bridge crosses the Furnace Creek in Pittsford, Rutland County, Vermont. The 66' bridge now has iron braces underneath it. Added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1974. One of four surviving covered bridges in Pittsford, Rutland County, Vermont. Hammond Covered Bridge

Sanderson Covered Bridge

Sanderson Covered Bridge was built using town lattice truss around 1840. The bridge crosses Otter Creed at 131.5' in Brandon, Rutland County, Vermont. In 1974, Sanderson Covered Bridge was added to the National Register of Historic Places. The original bridge was dismantled in 2002 and was replaced with a new bridge in 2003, the replacement cost $830,000. A tractor trailer stuck the bridge about a week prior to my visit. Shoemaker Covered Bridge

Crossing over the West Branch Run (which flows into Little Fishing Creek) in Pine Township, Columbia County, Pennsylvania. The queen post truss bridge is 49’ long and was built in 1881, for $332. The bridge is name for a local farmer and lumberman Joseph Shoemaker. The Shoemaker Covered Bridge was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1979. March 8, 2025 March 8, 2025
